Well I am back. After a quick run up to Abiquiu, Taos and Santa Fe I am beat. I have so many photos that I thought I would start another blog, but then I thought about the time it takes to maintain this one (at least the taking of the photos.) Anyway I am going to just relax before going back to work on Monday. I wanted to share this pheto from a wall at an art gallery in Santa Fe. They are words I try to live by everyday. Lost Signal


These palm trees were outside of a gallery in the downtown area. (Click for a better view) I laughed when I saw the sign they hung on it.
Well all I am off to Santa Fe until next Thursday to check on my property in Northern New Mexico so this will be my last post until I get back. Wishing you all a good weekend and start to your week. :-)

Running from the rain


We had our first Spring rain yesterday and on the way home I saw this guy running. Probably trying to get somewhere before it started to rain again.

Seeing Red


Nothing like a Red Velvet couch. Why are we so drawn to the color?

Sculpture


This sculpture was outside of the old Phoenix Icehouse. I just like the rust of the sculpture and the door.

Oh,there it is...


Walking past a building the other day I saw these advertisement in front of an old building. Its a historic building but you would never know it by looking at it. De Gracia whom some of you may have seen his chapel on the Tucson daily photo blog painted some angels and children inside of this building.

Mobile Art van


This is a mobile gallery. The artist paint one of a kind t-shirts and sells them at art events.

It hit 99 degrees yesterday!


By the look of this sun flower it was not ready for the temps we faced today. Its not even officially Spring yet. But then again we only have two seasons here Summer and Winter. Happy St Patrick day everyone!

This rider is going to see you coming from behind thats for sure. Ever since I shot this scooter in front of a gallery I have seen it all over town.

Many would say no, no,no, other would say yes it is art. You choose.

The unknown


Not sure what this is going to be yet. The building next to this house is now a resturant. It will be interesting to see what developes here. I will be sure to go back for a new picture once its completed.

Happy Monday, more play, less work


This statue of kids playing is downtown on the grounds of St. Mary's church. I plan on doing what these kids are doing. We get our birthday off as an extra vacation day so I am out and about just playing today. Hope you all had a good Monday.

Art can mesmerize


This is one of my favorite shots of the day. I walked into this gallery and this guy was just sitting there watching this art video. There was something about the crowd outside of the building and him alone in the room.

Old window


This window was in the same house where I shot the paints and frames. I love old houses, they have so much more character.

Guess who is in town?


Well I guess everyone was on the Art Detour, funny though I didn't see anyone that looked out of place that day.

Painting anyone?


While touring the galleries in town I happened upon this artist working area. It was in a historic house with three artist displaying.

Sidewalk art


Not sure what this piece was called but it was near the front door of a downtown gallery. "Pop" art, maybe but there were beer bottle caps included.

A Cat in the flowers.


While walking into one of the galleries I noticed this Cat in the Hat sitting on this old bike amoungst some flowers. A new garden sculpture I guess.

Inside and out


This weekend was the Phoenix Art Detour and there were many galleries with some good art. Some of them open every First Friday and others only open for this event. Some like this gallery had art exhibited outdoors. There was everything from music to performance art.

Spending time with art.


This is inside one of our local gallery/music spaces. Today is the day I wait for all year, The Art Detour. Its a weekend long version of First Fridays, but more galleries are open. It is a weekend long event with art,music and fun.

The shape of things...


I found the shape of this tree interesting so I thought I would shoot it and post as my photo for the day. You may wonder, is he a treehugger? Maybe?

On a Mission


Well at least outside of one. This old mission is in the Old Town Scottsdale area. They are in the process of restoring it.
