Superstition range

This mountain range is on the eastern border the Phoenix metropolitian area. It is a great hiking area and known for the Lost Dutchman's mine. I took this shot as we were driving back into Phoenix.

I love the superstitions. There is good rock climbing out there. One of these days, we should go out to that old mining town (Goldfield?) and have a beer. When the sun starts to set, the superstitions turn a red/purple color. Wow, sounds like I just described a romantic date :) ha ha

There you go. The Lost Dutchman's Mine is a great place to visit but then nobody seems to know where it is. I have seen movies about looking for it. Seems like a wild place to say the least. But then the Dutchman came to town loaded with gold. So it is probably true.

Nice shot of the mountains where all the gold is.
