Code Talkers

This statue was placed at the foot of Window Rock to honor the Code Talkers and their role in the war by using their native language to create a code that was never broken by the enemy.

I've always been fascinated by that -- didn't know there was a statue for it, though.

These men truly are heros. You might provide a link for more information on them sometime in the future. When teaching a world studies course I always included them in my WWII unit, and I also met some of them at an air show here in MN several, actually, many years ago. I'm glad that I found your blog!

Kate thanks for the suggestion, I was going to put a link on here but ran short of time. Will do later.

Zsolt, the movie was called Windtalkers.

Thank you all for visiting.
