A big weight.

This is the anchor from the USS Arizona which most know is sitting on the bottom of the ocean in Pearl Harbor under a memorial. I remember when I was a kid a so excited because my father helped to pour the concrete around the anchor memorial. Today would have been my dads 67th birthday. Happy Birthday Dad. I miss you.

In honor

This statue is downtown near the state capital and the anchor from yesterdays photo. The statue was made to honor all service dogs who died in the line of duty.

City building

This is one by my favorite buildings in the downtown area. It is the main City of Phoenix buildings. I like all of the different shapes that the architects used in the design.

The Sun in front.

This is the front view of the City of Phoenix building. I love this sun sculpture on the front of the building.

Hug a tree

Just don't fall into the water. I saw this tree in El Dorado part in Scottsdale another city that borders Phoenix to the east. I was intriqued by all the curves in this trunk.

Let the commute begin

Happy Monday everyone! This city is horrible when it comes to mass transit. We do have a commuter train going in that will be running at the end of 2008. I guess I wil have to come back for a visit just to see what its like.

I saw these trees over a creek and it made me think of two oriental men bowing to each other in respect of one another.

Say hi to Malee. She will be spending the next three weeks at work with us while her owners are traveling abroad. This is one of her power dog business jackets. We are all looking foward to see what tomorrows outfit will be.

Neon Library

This was taken from the 5th floor of our main library near downtown. This neon sign hovers right outside the 4th floor which is the Teen Library.

Boot,Bell and Flower

These sculptures sit at the corner of a parking lot in Old Town Scottsdale. This is a huge tourist area with alot of great resturants and art galleries.

Music in the Red Rocks

Headed to the red rocks of Sedona today for a Willie and Lobo concert. If you haven't heard their music you have to give it a try. Its a great fusion of Electric Violin and Flamenco guitar. You can check out their website at www.willieandlobo.com

Southwest Fountain

This is one of my favorite fountains in the entire valley. This fountian is in El Dorado park. The same park from a previous photo where the trees were meeting over the water. Happy Monday everyone.

Remember when...

These two guys took a break from riding and were watching the skateboarders for awhile. My quess, they were talking about when they were able to ride skateboards or maybe just skates back in thier day. They seemed pretty amused by the tricks that the boarder were performing.

Eyes Wide Open

Yesterday I went to this exhibit, Eyes Wide Open, the Human Cost of the Irag War. It was put together to honor the soldiers from Arizona and some of the citizens of Iraq. It was quite moving. Over the next week I will be showing some of the photos shot at the exhibit and as you will see there are no people shots, the boots and shoes are empty and I think my photos should be the same. My hopes, that when people will see these, it will inspire them to speak of peace and maybe take some action. Hey I can hope.
